course content

Introductory lesson. Materials

In this lesson I will tell you what materials you will need in the course. What analogues of paints and paper can you use.

1 lesson. Theory. Arched design. Linear perspective

This is a very important lesson of the course! I would like you to understand the principles of constructing linear perspective and those points that are important to pay attention to and what is better to omit.

2 lesson. Train station in the Netherlands

In the first practical lesson of the course, we will repeat with you the classic linear perspective, which is found in most city landscapes. Let's look at the construction of arched structures and simplifications in this construction. Let’s study in practice how to simplify a landscape using fills and a dry brush so that the viewer can create the effect of “detailing”

3 lesson. Theory. Angular perspective using the example of a bridge

We again separately return to construction and perspective. When performing such complex landscapes, it is the correct “skeleton” of construction that is 80% of success.

4 lesson. Bridge and Pushkinskaya embankment

In this practical lesson, we will show you how to build an angular perspective, repeat how you can determine the horizon line in different ways, and analyze the construction of a bridge arch. On the watercolor side, we will study the “from dark to light” technique using the example of more than a simple architectural element. This will help you in the future to easily draw objects that are located in the shadows and have a minimum of contrast.

5 lesson. Theory. Reinforcement and repetition.

In this theoretical lesson, we will repeat with you the construction and simplification of arched structures and the combination of several references for work.

6 Lesson. Vitebsk railway station with a steam locomotive.

In this lesson we will combine 2 references into one, taking into account lighting. Learn to draw smoke and steam. Simplify the plot and create a mood.

7 Lesson. Independent practice.

In this lesson I offer you several references to choose from for independent work. It's better if you choose your own. Remember that it is your own choice of tone, color, composition, arrangement of drops that will be able to consolidate the skills acquired in the course. I wish you good luck and success!

Paints

Above are the colors and palette of Anastasia with analogues in the Nevskaya Palitra. But remember that you can use your palette if you know it and are confident in it, taking into account only the comments on the use of warm and cool colors that Anastasia always makes during the lesson.

For this course you will need 100% cotton cotton paper
